Croatia are coming off a really frustrating draw against one of the weakest teams in the group. They will now look to bounce back to winning ways when they will play host to Hungary on Thursday. Hungary have been solid so far in the qualifiers and actually forced Croatia to their only loss so far in this qualifying stage.
Hungary (3-2-0) played a really physical match at home against Slovakia, where they lost by 2-1. They did temporarily pull even at the start of the second half but conceded again shortly after to eventually lose. But prior to that they had three consecutive wins in the competition. Hungary are now sitting at the 3rd spot of Group E with 9 points, having kept just a single clean sheet so far. Slovakia also have 9 points but are sitting above Hungary in the standings.
Croatia (3-1-1) were quite good in their away match against Azerbaijan but could not escape with the three points. Things looked great when they took an early lead, but despite keeping their opponents at bay, they conceded an equalizing goal for the final 1-1. Croatia have been really solid in the qualifiers so far, actually losing their only match against Hungary. They are leading the group with 10 points, scoring 10 goals and conceding just five so far.
