There is a Western Conference match-up that will take place on Saturday, when Portland will host Houston. The Timbers have been in really good form lately and are coming off a couple of solid wins, while Houston lost badly in the US Open Cup and have struggled on the road.

Portland are getting ready for their second consecutive home match of the season, and third overall. In their previous match they completely destroyed the LA Galaxy by a massive 0-4 in the round of 16 of the US Open Cup. Portland have lost just two of their last nine matches (6-2-1) but have kept just one clean sheet in the process. They are now sitting at the bottom of the Western Conference with 14 points, but five behind the playoffs. Houston (7-3-3) met a tough loss against Minnesota United by 3-2 at home and were eliminated from the competition. They have not been in good shape lately, winning just two of their last seven matches in all competitions (2-3-2) and have not kept a clean sheet in their last eight. Houston are now 4th in the Western Conference with 24 points, two behind Seattle. However, they are ever terrible on the road. This season they have three losses in four matches (1-3-0), failing to score in two.
