On Friday night (CET) Hertha Berlin and Werder Berlin will face each other in the second round in Bundesliga.
It is fair to say that Werder wanted much better result from the first game which lost 3-0 at home against Schalke 04. Schalke was a better team that was able to find holes in Bremen’s defense. Despite of Werder defending tightly their own goal played a big part how the game could have gone.
Bremen’s coach Viktor Skripnik is certain that his team can play much better than against Schalke and hopes for three points from Berlin. Skripnik mentioned that all players are fired up and want to get first points in the new season. He further added that he was impressed with his new acquisition Aron Jóhannsson. The 24 year old American international has been training hard and improving quickly. Skripnik, however, admitted that he does not know whether he will start the game in Berlin.
Hertha, unlike Bremen, gained three points for their first 1-0 win in Augsburg. The only goal was scored by Salomon Kalaou from penalty in 48th minute. According to some fans, this game itself was not exciting at all and both teams if they want to win some games, will have to improve dramatically in next rounds.
To summarize, Hertha is going into this game with high confidence and three points from their first game. Werder, on the other hand, has to play much better than against Schalke. Otherwise, they will be hammered again. Final game prediction, Hertha will draw with Bremen 1-1.
