The Icelandic Pepsideild just started a couple of weeks ago, and Hafnarfjordur have made one more excellent start in the season. They won the title twice in the last three years, and they will be looking to return to the top after failing to capture it last season. They will now be hosted by Vestmannaeyjar on Monday, who have been quite bad so far.
Vestmannaeyjar (0-3-1) have made a rather bad start in the season, as they have failed to win any of their first four matches so far. They are coming off a tough loss on the road against Fylkir on Thursday, where they had already conceded two goals before scoring a consolation goal at the stoppage time for the final 1-2. They are now sitting at the bottom of the league table with just a single point so far, having scored 3 goals, against 9 conceded.
Hafnarfjordur (3-1-0) are coming off a really strong performance at home against Akureyri on Thursday. They had already taken a two goal lead in the second half before their opponents scored once at the 80th minute, but Hafnar scored another goal at the 85th minute for the final 1-3. They have now won three of their four matches so far, but have kept just a single clean sheet in the process. Hafnarfjordur are sitting at the 2nd spot of the Pepsideild with 9 points, just one point behind league leaders Breidablik.
