An old rivalry comes back to life on Sunday when Netherlands will host Germany for the 2022 EURO Cup qualifiers. Netherlands started the qualifiers with a massive win at home over Belarus and will now look at least for a draw. Germany have not played a match in this stage yet and their recent matches were not very promising.

Netherlands (1-0-0) made a really great start in this qualifying stage when they destroyed Belarus by 0-4 at home on Thursday. Both teams actually had their fair share of scoring chances but Netherlands had more shots on goal and were clinical. They took an early lead at the 1st minute and it was an easy ride after that. Netherlands did a great job in the UEFA Nations League when they topped the group that also featured France and Germany. Germany (0-0-0) had a really bad run in the UEFA Nations League where they finished at the bottom of their group and were relegated. They didn’t win any of their four matches against France and Netherlands, scoring just three goals and conceding seven in the process. The Germans have been in bad form lately, having failed to win any of their last five competitive matches in all competitions (0-3-2). One important statistic about Germany’s coach Lowe is that he is without a win in the last three matches against this opponents (0-2-1).

Netherlands won by an easy 0-3 when they hosted Germany in the UEFA Nations League in late 2018. The two teams split the points in a 2-2 draw in Germany and it is Germany who have the upper hand in 42 prior occasions (15-11-16). I will take the Over 2.75 Goals here, as six of the last seven matches between the two had at least three goals.
