Brazilian side Santos are the only team to have booked their ticket to the next round of the Copa Libertadores, but they will now fight for the top spot in the final Match-day. They will play host to Peruvian side Garcilaso on Thursday, who might be sitting at the bottom of the group, but they still have mathematical chances even for the 2nd spot.
Santos (3-2-0) were actually stunned by Garcilaso in the premiere, where they fell by 0-2 on the road. However, they bounced right back with a 1-3 win at home against Club Nacional, before defeating Estudiantes L.P. in both matches (1-0 away, 0-2 home). In their most recent match they suffered a tough 0-1 loss on the road against Club Nacional, and have been playing an awful lot of matches in three competitions lately. They are now sitting at the top of Group F with 9 points, one ahead of Club Nacional, and four ahead of the other two teams.
On the other hand, Garcilaso (1-2-2) have won just that one match in the premiere against Santos, but have struggled a bit since then. After that they fell by 0-3 on the road against Estudiantes L.P., before grabbing just one point from their two matches against Club Nacional (0-0 home, 0-4 away). They were held to a goal-less draw at home against Estudiantes L.P. in their most recent match, and are now sitting at the bottom of the group with 5 points.
