Grindavik have done a pretty solid job in the Pepsideild so far but are coming off a tough elimination in the Icelandic Cup. They will now have to get their heads back together, as they will play host to Fylkir on Monday. Fylkir have not been in the best of forms lately and have been really inconsistent so far in the season.
Grindavik (3-1-2) might be feeling hard-done about the outcome of their Cup match against Akranes, where they conceded a late goal to bow out of the competition by 2-1. However, prior to that they were undefeated in six matches in all competitions (4-0-2), having kept just a single clean sheet in that span. They are now sitting at the 2nd spot of the Pepsideild with 11 points, just as many as Breidablik above them and Hafnarfjordur below them. Grindavik have been mediocre at home so far (1-1-1), where they have failed to keep a single clean sheet.
Fylkir (2-2-2) were stuck at a 1-1 draw against Hafnarfjordur on the road last week. They have not been in very bad form lately, as they have lost just one of their last five (2-1-2). However, they have failed to keep a single clean sheet in their last nine matches in all competitions. As far as the Pepsideild is concerned, Fylkir are now sitting at the 7th spot of the league table with 8 points. They haven’t had much luck on the road so far (0-2-2), where they haven’t won any of their last six in all competitions (0-4-2).
