Fulham FC vs Arsenal FC 9/12/20 - English Premier League Picks & Predictions

Fulham hosts Arsenal at Craven Cottage on Saturday to open the English Premier League 2020-21 campaign for both clubs. Fulham defeated Brentford in the Championship playoff final two move up into the Premier League once again. Prior to losing to Cardiff City in the championship semifinal, Fulham had won 10 of the last 13 fixtures at home.

However, Fulham has had its problems when facing Arsenal with five defeats and one draw in the last six meetings between the two and were beaten 5-1 in the most recent match between the two dating back to October of 2018. Fulham has not defeated the Gunners at home since January 2012 when Bobby Zamora and Steve Sidwell each scored.

Arsenal earned trophies in two consecutive matches in August defeating Chelsea to earn the FA Cup for a record 14th time and followed that by winning the Community Shield with a victory over Liverpool. Manager Mikel Arteta has convinced most fans at Arsenal he is the one to bring back glory that has not been enjoyed since the days of Arsene Wenger. 

The Gunners have signed Willian and William Saliba during the short break between seasons and for now striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang remains an Arsenal player. Last season, Arsenal finished eighth in the Premier League which was below expectations for most, finishing last term with only two victories over their final 11 fixtures on the road in league play and posted just four victories on the road during the entire EPL campaign of 2019-20.
