French Ligue 1 – Matchday 29 – Best Bets, Odds, Picks & Predictions

The French top flight returns this weekend and there are some exciting matchups to look forward to. I have chosen to feature the best value bets for Montpellier vs. Marseille, Brest vs. Lille, and Bordeaux vs. Rennes. 

Here are this week’s top Ligue 1 picks. 

Montpellier vs. Marseille – 3/14/20 

Montpellier come into this game on a pretty inconsistent run which has seen them win two and lose three of their last five. After beating Strasbourg 5-0 a fortnight ago, Montpellier were thrashed 5-0 by Rennes last time out. Meanwhile, Marseille have only lost one of their previous 17 league games and have cemented second place in the table. Having said that, Marseille haven’t exactly been at their best in recent games. I think this matchup with produce plenty of goals, so both teams to score at 1.95 is a no brainer for me. 

Pick: Both Teams to Score – 1.95 

Brest vs. Lille – 3/14/20 

A three-game winning streak means Lille are currently fourth – eight points ahead of fifth-place Reims and just one point behind Rennes in third. On the other hand, Brest are fourteenth – seven points clear of the bottom three after failing to win in any of their last three outings. Odds of 1.80 for the Lille win are fairly attractive on their here. But when you consider that Lille have won their last two games 1-0, another low-scoring win is likely this weekend. For that reason, add the under 3.5 goals market into the mix to boost the odds to 2.50. 

Pick: Lille to Win and Under 3.5 Goals – 2.50 

Bordeaux vs. Rennes – 3/15/20 

A four-game winless run has seen Bordeaux slide down the table in recent weeks. Bordeaux are now twelfth in the standings – ten points clear of the bottom three and 12 off the European places. By contrast, Rennes are firmly in the European place and currently sit third after winning their previous three games. A 5-0 victory over Montpellier last weekend proved that Rennes are serious about claiming a Champions League spot come the end of the season. Given the contrasting form of the two teams, the Rennes win at 2.50 seems too good to miss here.
