Espanyol at Valencia 2/17/19 - La Liga Picks & Predictions

Valencia are not one of the flashy teams in the La Liga but are surely having a really solid season so far. They will now look to extend their great form on Sunday, when they will play host to Espanyol. Espanyol have not had much luck lately but have been quite competitive.

Valencia (6-4-13) did a great job on the road against Celtic in the round of 32 of the Europa League and are now with one leg in the next round. They have also been really good in the La Liga so far in the season, despite having the 4th fewest wins. They also have the 3rd fewest losses and the most draws (13), which goes to show that they are a really compact unit. Valencia are sitting at the 8th spot of the league table with 31 points, four behind the top six spots. They have only lost once at home (3-1-8) and have scored at least three goals in three of their last four matches there. Espanyol (8-11-4) fought really hard in their last match and eventually managed to overturn the result in their favor against Rayo Vallecano at home (1-2). It was a much-needed win for an Espanyol side that hadn’t won any of their previous five (0-2-3). They are currently 21th in the La Liga with 28 points, five ahead of the relegation zone and three behind Valencia. However, they have been the worst team on the road so far in the season (1-7-4), conceding at least twice in eight of their last nine matches in all competitions.
