Russia had no troubles in the World Cup premiere, in fact they destroyed Saudi Arabia by a massive 0-5. Despite taking what was expected of them, Russia are still not in a very good spot. They will now play host to a hurt Egypt side on Tuesday, who are coming off a heat-breaking result against Uruguay.
Egypt did not have Mohamed Salah ready for the first match, but they showed some great qualities overall. They had some pretty good players in every line, and if they have Mohamed Salah as well, they can go places. However, Egypt saw Uruguay score the winning goal at the 89th minute of that match and are now with very little options. There is still a lot of speculation as to whether Mohamed Salah will play or not. Egypt will be a really strong side if he comes back against Russia.
Russia had a very easy job in the World Cup premiere against Saudi Arabia. They took an early lead at the 12th minute and were already up by 0-2 by the end of the first half. Russia exploded in the second half, especially in the stoppage time where they didn’t stop pushing and scored two more goals. Russia have now taken a huge advantage towards qualifying but will definitely need a win over Egypt.
