Bayern Munich did an excellent job in the titel derby against Dortmund and will now have an easy path to the title. They will return home for their next assignment, where they will play host to Dusseldorf on Saturday. Dusseldorf are coming off a nice win over Schalke and have been quite solid after the break.
Bayern Munich (20-4-4) are coming off a solid performance on the road against Dortmund, in a match that was pretty balanced. They scored the only goal of the match at the end of the first half to escape with a slim 1-0 win. But that was enough to leave their opponents seven points behind them in the race for the title, with six more matches to be played. Bayern Munich have been really strong at home so far (10-2-2), where they are undefeated in their last nine matches in all competitions (8-0-1). However, they have conceded multiple goals on three of their last five home matches.
Dusseldorf (6-13-9) were really good in their home match against Schalke mid-week, where they came back from one goal behind, scoring twice in a five-minute span to eventually win by 1-2. They are now undefeated in their last seven matches in all competitions, with six of those counting for the Bundesliga (2-0-5). Dusseldorf are sitting at the 16th spot of the league table with 27 points, just one below the red line. They have not been anything special on the road so far (2-7-5) but are actually undefeated in their last six matches in all competitions (2-0-4).
Bayern Munich had a really easy job in the reverse fixture, when they beat Dusseldorf by 4-0 on the road. They have the upper hand as hosts against this opponent (3-1-2), but Dusseldorf forced a 3-3 draw in this venue last season and have scored multiple goals in three of the last four here. Bayern Munich’s defense can be unstable at times, so I will take my chances with the BTTS here.
