Two teams that have already booked their tickets to the Eastern Conference playoffs will lock horns on Sunday, when DC United will be hosted by the NY Red Bulls. The Red Bulls are coming off successive wins but have not been very stable lately, while DC United are also coming off a winning streak.
DC United (13-10-9) played a really balanced match at home against Seattle last week, where they scored twice to take a nice 0-2 win. That was their third win in a row, having also kept clean sheets in each one. DC United are sitting at the 4th spot of the Eastern Conference with 48 points, one ahead of the Red Bulls and six behind Atlanta. They have the 2nd best away record in the Conference (6-6-4) but have won just two of their last six on the road (2-3-1).
The NY Red Bulls (14-13-5) were really good in their home match against Philadelphia but had to score a late goal for the nice 0-2 win. Prior to that they beat Portland by 2-0 on the road but that was their first clean sheet after six matches. The Red Bulls are sitting at the 5th spot of the Eastern Conference with 47 points, one ahead of Toronto and one behind DC United. They have a 9-5-2 home record but have won just two of their last five (2-2-1).
