There are two exciting semi-finals to look forward to in the French Cup this week as Lyon host PSG and Rennes travel to St-Etienne. Can in-form Lyon stop PSG from claiming yet more domestic silverware? Will reigning champions Rennes book their place in a second consecutive Coupe de France final with victory over struggling St-Etienne?

Here are the best bets for each Coupe de France semi-final.

Lyon vs. PSG – 3/4/20

Lyon are now unbeaten in their previous five games in all competitions and have won their last three heading into this matchup. 2-0 wins against Metz and St-Etienne in Ligue 1 have come either side of an impressive victory over Juventus in the Champions League. But it’s important to remember that PSG thrashed Lyon 4-2 last month. Lyon has been wildly inconsistent this season and currently sit fifth in Ligue 1 – 28 points behind league leaders PSG.

Thomas Tuchel’s side have only lost one of their last 26 games in all competitions and that was against a tricky Borussia Dortmund team in the Champions League. Since then, PSG have scored four goals in a win over Bordeaux before netting a further four against Dijon last time out. Lyon may have enjoyed an upturn in form recently, but I can’t see PSG losing this one. The Parisians look set to outscore Lyon and book their place in the final.

Pick: PSG to Win – 1.62

St-Etienne vs. Rennes – 3/5/20

This matchup brings together two teams in very different form. A run of one win in eleven league games has seen St-Etienne plummet down the top-flight table, while back-to-back victories mean Rennes remain third. St-Etienne are down in sixteenth – two points clear of the bottom three and in serious danger of relegation. Only the bottom two teams in the division have a poorer defensive record than St-Etienne in 2019/20.

Meanwhile, Rennes boast the second-best defensive record in Ligue 1, with only Stade Reims conceding fewer goals than Rennes this term. Rennes may not score too many goals, but their solid backline makes them an extremely tough team to get the better of. Let’s not forget that Rennes also beat St-Etienne comfortably in December. All the signs are pointing towards another Rennes win this time around, and odds of 2.70 are very attractive.

Pick: Rennes to Win – 2.70
