Colorado Rapids at Philadelphia Union 5/29/19 - MLS Picks & Predictions

Philadelphia Union were not all that bad in their last match but met a really tough loss at home. They will now look to return to winning ways after two unsuccessful results, as they will host Colorado on Wednesday. Colorado are actually coming off back-to-back wins but have been terrible all season.

Philadelphia Union (7-4-3) are coming off a really tough 3-1 loss at home against Portland, in a match where their opponents were lethal in the offensive end. That means that Philadelphia are now win-less in their last two but are still having a great season. They are 2nd in the Eastern Conference with 24 points, one behind DC United. Moreover, they have the best home record (5-2-1). Colorado (2-9-2) played a strong match at home against Columbus on Saturday and scored a late goal to win that match by 2-3. Prior to that they stunned the LA Galaxy with a 1-0 away win, but those were their first wins of the season. Colorado are still stuck at the bottom of the Western Conference with 8 points, still six behind Portland and Sporting KC. Also, Colorado have been really bad on the road so far (1-5-0), scoring 6 and conceding 13 goals in the process.

Colorado won by 0-3 at home when the two met last season and still have the upper hand in this match-up (4-2-5). They have also stood strong in this venue over the years (2-1-3), with five of those matches featuring goals from both sides. Philadelphia’s Marco Fabian is still questionable, and he is one of the best players in the team. If he plays I will go with Philadelphia to cover the spread here.
