Columbus met a really frustrating loss on the road against Portland mid-week, but they will now return home. They will play host to Colorado on Saturday, who have been really awful lately and all season for that matter.

Columbus (12-9-8) actually took the lead in their away match against Portland, but they saw their opponents overturn the lead to 1-3 by the start of the second half. Columbus did score a late goal but it was too late to change anything. They have struggled to get results lately, winning just one of their last five (1-2-2). Columbus are sitting at the 4th spot of the Eastern Conference with 44 points, one ahead of Philadelphia Union. They have been really good at home so far (9-2-3), and have won each of their last four there. Colorado (6-16-6) feel like they didn’t deserve such a harsh loss against Atlanta United at home in their last match. They were not very bad, but their opponents scored three goals in the first half to eventually win by 3-0. They have now lost four in a row, failing to score a single goal in that span, while conceding 13 in the process. Colorado are still stuck at the penultimate spot of the Western Conference with 24 points and by far the worst offense in the MLS. They have been equally weak on the road (1-9-3), where they have scored just 9 goals so far.

Columbus have been excellent as hosts against Colorado lately, losing just once here since 2005 (6-1-3). Moreover, seven of the last eight matches in this venue featured goals from both sides. Only Columbus are looking for points on this one, so I will back them up here.
