New England have not made a good start in the new season, grabbing just one point from their first three matches. They will now return home for their next assignment, where they will host Cincinnati. The newcomers did a solid job at home against Portland and celebrated their first win in the MLS.

New England (0-2-1) are coming off yet another frustrating result when they fell by 2-3 on the road against Toronto FC. They actually took the lead at the 9th minute of that match but were down 1-2 by the end of the first half. They pulled even at the 53rd minute but conceded a late goal at the 80th minute for the final 2-3. They are now 11th in the Eastern Conference with just as single point but they have been better than this.
Cincinnati (1-1-1) were excellent in their first home match in the MLS, where they blasted Portland by a huge 0-3. They took an early lead at the 15th minute and stood strong, before scoring twice in a two-minute span in the second half to reach a really strong win. After grabbing a point in Atlanta the week before, Cincinnati are now sitting at the 6th spot of the Eastern Conference with 4 points, in a tie with Montreal.

New England don’t deserve to be in such a tough spot right now and will surely be very frustrated. Cincinnati will be missing some key players who were called up on international duty and I expect the hosts to get the win here, hopefully by more than one goal.
