Juventus did great in the Italian Super Cup and captured the trophy against Milan to win their first silverware of the season. They will now get ready to play their third match in the new year when they will host Chievo on Monday. Chievo haven’t played a competitive match since December 29th and have not been very good this season.
Juventus (17-0-2) were not very good in the first half of the Italian Super Cup against Milan in Saudi Arabia. But Cristiano Ronaldo scored the only goal of the match at the hour mark and Juventus captured the trophy. Last week they beat Bologna by 2-0 on the road and moved to the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia. As far as the Serie A is concerned, Juventus are still sitting at the top with 53 points, six ahead of Napoli who have one more match. Juventus have also been great at home (9-0-1), where they have conceded just five goals.
Chievo (1-10-8) entered the winter break on a positive note when they recorded their first win of the season in a 0-1 at home against Frosinone. They have lost just once in their last five (1-1-3) but their run was far from promising. Chievo have been sitting at the bottom of the league for the entire season, and the fact that they started with a -3 point penalty also had something to do with it. Oddly enough, they don’t have the worst away record in the league, they have actually grabbed half their points on the road (0-5-4).
