San Jose are currently sitting at the 9th spot of the Western Conference with 11 points, just as many as Portland. Both teams are just two points outside the playoff spots. San Jose have not been anything special at home so far (3-3-0) but have won three in a row. Chicago Fire (4-4-4) are coming off a really nice 0-2 home win against Minnesota United in their last match. Prior to that they destroyed New England by 0-5 at home and have now kept three clean sheets in a row (2-0-1). Chicago Fire are now sitting at the 8th spot of the Eastern Conference with 16 points, just as many as Columbus who are above. Chicago have not had it easy on the road so far (0-3-2), failing to score in their last three.
