Chelsea at Wolves 12/5/18 - Premier League Picks & Predictions

Chelsea looked really sharp in their home win against Fulham over the weekend and returned to winning ways after two unsuccessful results in the Premier League. They will now play against another newcomer, as they will be hosted by Wolves on Wednesday. Wolves are struggling really hard lately and this is surely not the match-up that they would wish for at this point.

Wolves (4-6-4) are coming into this match after a really bad loss on the road against the other newcomers, Cardiff. They actually took an early lead at the 18th minute of that match but got careless in the second half. Not only did they allow their opponents to pull even at the 65th minute, but they conceded the losing goal eight minutes later to eventually lose by 1-2. That was their fifth loss in their last six (0-5-1), having scored just four goals in that span. Wolves are now sitting at the 12th spot of the Premier League with 16 points, one ahead of West Ham and two behind Brighton. They didn’t lose any of their first five home matches of the season, but have lost each of their last three since then (2-3-3 in all competitions). Chelsea (9-1-4) were very good in their last match, where they were great on both ends of the pitch and beat Fulham by 0-2. They made a strong start and took an early lead, safely kept it and eventually scored another goal at the 82nd minute for the final 0-2. In their previous match they beat PAOK by 0-4 at home in a Europa League match, but they failed to win their previous two league matches. Even so, Chelsea are still sitting at the 3rd spot of the Premier League with 31 points, one point ahead of Arsenal and Tottenham and seven behind Manchester City. Chelsea have been really hard to beat on the road so far (4-1-1), where recently they met their first loss in a 1-3 against Tottenham.
