Southampton fought really hard in their last match but were unable to take even a single point. They will now have another challenging task coming their way, as they will host Chelsea on Sunday. Chelsea are coming off a nice win in the Europa League and have now built a winning streak in all competitions.
Chelsea (3-2-2) scored a late goal against Lille in the Europa League, to take a nice 2-1 win on the road. Last week they recorded a clean sheet win against Brighton, beating them by 0-2 at home. The Blues have now won three in a row in all competitions. They are sitting at the 7th spot of the league table with 11 points, as many as Tottenham, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace. Chelsea have won all three away matches in all competitions this season.
Southampton (2-4-1) temporarily pulled even against Tottenham last week, but conceded another goal to eventually lose by 1-2 on the road. They have now lost each of their last two Premier League matches, but scored in both. Southampton are now sitting at the 15th spot of the league table with 7 points, just two ahead of the red zone. They have scored in all three home matches so far, winning none (0-2-1).
