Chelsea at Manchester United 8/11/19 - Premier League Picks & Predictions

The Premier League starts with a really tough task for two of the nation’s best teams, as Manchester United will host Chelsea on Sunday. Manchester United have been really good in premieres so far and will look for a win here. Chelsea’s opening matches tend to be exciting so I expect an interesting clash.

Chelsea finished at the 3rd spot of the league last season with a 21-8-9 record, scoring 63 goals and conceding 39 in the process. They were tremendous at home last season (12-1-6), scoring 39 and conceding just 12 goals. They were not very bad on the road either (9-7-3) but conceded more goals than they scored. Chelsea are traditionally engaged in goal-fests in the premieres, with each of the previous five such matches having featured Over 2.5 Goals. Manchester United really messed up in the final matches of the season and eventually finished 6th with 66 points (19-10-9). They didn’t take a Champions League ticket, so that’s what they will go for this season. They were quite solid at home (10-3-6) but kept just two clean sheets there last season. They conceded 1.32 goals per match at home last season. But they are traditionally strong in season openers, with four consecutive wins in their last four.
