Bayern Munich did an excellent job in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16, when they beat Chelsea by a confident 3-0 on the road. The match-up is now reversed, with Chelsea visiting Germany looking for a complete miracle in order to move on.

Bayern Munich were tremendous in the second half of the season, winning each of their last 17 matches in all competitions, and going undefeated in their last 26 (25-0-1). They captured the Bundesliga title and the German Cup when they beat Bayer Leverkusen at the final. Bayern Munich have won six matches with more than two goals, including all three matches against English sides. There were Over 2.5 Goals in six of their seven Champions League matches so far in the season, while 20 of their 27 goals came after the half time.

Chelsea will have a herculean task ahead of them, as they need to overcome a very unrealistic deficit against a much better team. And they have to do so without a massive number of absences, as Alonso and Jorginho are suspended, while Azpilicueta, Pedro, Pulisic and Loftus-Cheek are injured, with Willian still considered as questionable. Chelsea lost to Arsenal in the FA Cup final in their most recent match, but finished 3rd in the Premier League to grab a Champions League ticket for next season. Chelsea have not lost any of their three away matches so far in the season (2-0-1) but have not kept a single clean sheet in their last four away matches.
