Champions League – Quarter-Finals – Best Bets, Odds, Picks & Predictions

There are now just eight teams in contention for European soccer’s most sought-after prize. Manchester City and Bayern Munich are the bookies’ favorites to lift the trophy, but can outsiders Lyon, RB Leipzig, or Atalanta spoil the party?

Let’s get stuck into the best value bets for the Champions League quarter-finals.

Atalanta vs. PSG – 08/12/20

The bookies have made PSG (1.91) the favorites to win this matchup, and rightfully so. The French side are Champions League regulars, while Atalanta (3.40) are competing in their very first UCL campaign. However, PSG have never made it past the semi-finals in this competition and always seems to struggle in the latter stages. Atalanta are capable of outscoring the best teams in Europe on their day. The fact that the Italian side scored 98 Serie A goals in 2019/20 suggests they can see off PSG one way or another.

Pick: Atalanta to Qualify – 2.55

RB Leipzig vs. Atletico Madrid – 08/13/20

RB Leipzig (3.10) were looking like challenging for the Bundesliga title when the campaign resumed back in March. However, they only managed to win four of their 11 league games after the break and eventually finished 16 points behind first-place Bayern Munich. By contrast, Atletico Madrid (2.38) come into this game on an 18-game unbeaten streak in all competitions. Still, ten of their 13 league games after the break produced under 3.5 goals. This won’t be a high-scoring Atletico win, but I’m confident the Spanish side will get the job done.

Pick: Atletico Madrid to Qualify and Under 3.5 Goals – 2.08

Barcelona vs. Bayern Munich – 08/14/20

It’s fair to say that Barcelona (3.50) finished their domestic campaign in disappointing fashion. The Catalan giants were two points ahead of Real Madrid when La Liga was put on hold, but ended up finishing five points behind their bitter rivals. Meanwhile, Bayern Munich (1.91) won 19 of their final 20 Bundesliga games to clinch yet another title with ease. In-form Bayern should win this game, and I’m sure there will be plenty of goals, too. Add the over 1.5 goals market onto the Bayern win to enhance the odds.

Pick: Bayern Munich to Win and Over 1.5 Goals – 2.25

Manchester City vs. Lyon – 08/15/20

Manchester City (1.22) are the bookies’ firm favorites heading into this tie, although the odds for the English side to win don’t offer much value. Lyon (11.00) are the clear outsiders here, but I don’t think the French outfit stand a chance. Man City below away Real Madrid in their Round of 16 second leg last week, with Raheem Sterling snatching an early goal. I can see Pep Guardiola’s men coming out firing again this week. With that in mind, backing Man City to win both halves makes sense to me.

Pick: Manchester City to Win Half-Time/Full-Time – 1.90
