Eloy Room was called upon for just one save for Columbus, while the Crew put nine shots on target but could not put one past Chicago’s Gabriel Slonina. Columbus was held scoreless for the 10th time this season.
Following its draw on the road versus Chicago, Columbus has only one loss and its last 16 matches in MLS play with six wins and nine draws. Only one other club, FC Cincinnati, has fewer than two losses dating back to the beginning of June. Lucas Zelarayan and Cucho Hernandez have each scored eight goals to lead Columbus. Derrick Etienne, Luis Diaz and Zelarayan are the leaders in assists with five apiece.
