West Ham recorded a great away win against Newcastle on Saturday and look like they are coming out of their slump. They will be looking to keep it up on Tuesday when they will play host to lowly Cardiff. Cardiff are also coming off a win but they have not been very good overall.

West Ham (4-7-3) startled their opponents with a different formation and two attackers in their last match. They used Chicharito in his first start after a couple of months, along with Arnautovic and the results were great. It only took Chicharito 11 minutes to score the first goal, while he bagged another at the 63rd minute, assisted by Arnautovic. They sealed the deal with another goal at the stoppage time for the final 3-0. They really needed that win, as it was just their second in their last eight matches in all competitions (2-4-2). West Ham are now sitting at the 13th spot of the league table with 15 points, six ahead of the relegation zone. But they have not had much luck at home so far (2-4-1), failing to score in four of those matches and keeping just a single clean sheet. Cardiff (3-9-2) pulled a great win in their last match when they came back from one goal behind to beat Wolves by 1-2 at home. That was their second win in their last three but they failed to keep a clean sheet for the 12th consecutive time. Cardiff are now sitting at the 16th spot of the Premier League with 11 points, just two ahead of the red line. They have scored 13 goals so far but have the 3rd worst defense in the league with 27 conceded. Cardiff have suffered on the road so far in the season, having lost five of their six matches (0-5-1). They have scored just two away goals and have conceded 12 in the process.
