Two teams that entered the international break after recording massive wins will now return to clash against one another, when Aston Villa will host Brighton on Saturday. Aston Villa destroyed Norwich by a massive deficit, while Brighton also did a stellar job to beat Tottenham.
Brighton (2-3-1) were tremendous in their home match against Tottenham right before the international break. They took an early lead, doubled that and eventually scored another goal to finally win that match by 0-3. They really needed that win, as prior to that they were win-less in five consecutive (0-3-2). Brighton are sitting 14th in the Premier League with 9 points, just as many as Sheffield United and Manchester United above them. They have been mediocre on the road so far (1-2-1), failing to score in their last three.
Aston Villa (2-4-2) played a really dominant match on the road against Norwich, blasting them by a massive 5-1 for a huge win. They could have scored more goals in that match, where they were the total bosses. Aston Villa have been in solid shape lately, losing just once in their last five matches in all competitions (2-1-2). They are now 15th in the league table with 8 points, one behind their upcoming opponents. They have a 1-1-2 record at home, keeping two clean sheets but conceding twice in each of their other two matches.
