Brighton & Hove Albion at Wolverhampton 11/5/22 - Premier League Picks & Predictions

The Wolverhampton Wanderers host the Brighton and Hove Albion Seagulls in a Premier League match Nov. 5. The all-time series is knotted at two wins apiece and four ties, but the edge has gone to Wolves at 2-1-1 the last two seasons. They split last season with each team winning on the other’s home pitch.

The Seagulls (5-4-3) are eighth in the league table after getting a massive 4-1 home win against their former manager, Graham Potter, who left for the Chelsea job earlier this season. The victory halted a five-game winless streak for Brighton and moved the Seagulls to within three points of Potter’s No. 6 Chelsea squad. This was also the first win for the man who replaced Potter as Brighton’s manager, Roberto De Zerbi.

Brighton led 3-0 at halftime after a Leandro Trossard goal in the fifth minute off an assist from Kaoru Mitoma and two own goals by Chelsea. The visitors made it 3-1 early into the second half but never got closer. Pascal Gross scored in extra time, making it 4-1. Seagulls goalkeeper Robert Sanchez had seven saves.

Wolverhampton has not had much success this season but did earn a 1-1 draw with Brentford the last time out Oct. 29. The Wanderers are in 19th position in the league at 2-4-7 and have been outscored 6-19.

Rúben Neves scored in the 52nd minute for Wolves with an assist from Nélson Semedo. Neves leads the team with three goals this season. Diego Costa will not be available against Brighton after getting a red card in extra time against Brentford.
