Borussia Dortmund vs. Club Brugge 11/24/20 - UEFA Champions League Picks & Predictions

On Tuesday, Borussia Dortmund hosts Club Brugge in a Champions League group stage fixture. With a victory, Dortmund would move clear of its next closest opponent by five points with only two matches remaining in group play. In the first meeting between these two three weeks ago, Dortmund defeated Brugge 3-0. Dortmund lost its opening match of group stage play to Lazio 3-1 but has recovered to beat both Brugge and Zenit St. Petersburg to regain the top spot in Group F.

In its victory over Brugge in early November, Dortmund was paced by Erling Braut Haaland, who scored a brace. The 20 year old phenom scored four goals this past Saturday in Bundesliga as Dortmund defeated Hertha Berlin 5-2. Haaland has already scored a combined 20 goals for Dortmund and Norway this season.

Meanwhile, Club Brugge have played much better than what was expected in Group F, earning four points and giving them a realistic shot at reaching the knockout stage for the first time in the history of the club. A strike by Noa Lang in the 60th minute earned Club Brugge a 1-0 victory this past weekend over Kortrijk and took Brugge to the top of the table in the top-flight Belgian League.

Club Brugge will have to play without two important defenders as Federico Ricca and Matej Mitrovic are both out injured while Eduard Sobol is not able to play because of Coronavirus. Brugge manager Philippe Clement may opt for a backline of five after allowing Dortmund too many opportunities at goal in the first match between the two, when Brugge used a backline of four.
