The Spanish La Liga springs back to action on Thursday, with two teams that were not doing very well prior to the break. Sevilla will look to restart the season with a positive result at home and remain in the top spots of the league. Betis are sitting in the middle and have not had a very good season so far.

Sevilla (13-6-8) played for a 2-2 draw on the road against Atletico Madrid in their last match before the break, which extended their undefeated streak to six matches in all competitions. However, they have won just twice in their last nine matches in all competitions (2-2-5). Sevilla are sitting 3rd in the La Liga with 47 points, just one ahead of Real Sociedad and Getafe, and two ahead of Atletico Madrid. They are traditionally strong at home, but this season they have been mediocre (6-2-5). Even so, they have lost just one of their last 16 home matches in all competitions (10-1-5).

Betis (8-10-9) did a tremendous job in their last match before the break when they beat Real Madrid by 1-2 at home. However, that was their first win after a seven-match win-less streak in all competitions (1-3-4). Betis are now sitting at the 12th spot of the league table with 33 points, eight ahead of the red line and nine behind the top-seven spots. They have won just once on the road so far (1-6-6) but also have the fewest away losses from the teams in the bottom half of the league table. Betis have not won any of their last five away matches in all competitions (0-2-3) but have lost just twice in their last 11 (3-2-6).
