Bayern Munich managed to avoid the defeat on the road against Wolfsburg on Saturday, and extended their winning streak in all competitions. They are now gearing up for their Champions League duties, where they will play host to Turkish side Besiktas on Tuesday. Besiktas are a very dangerous side, and they will surely be a tough opponent for the Germans.

Bayern Munich almost suffered an upset when they visited Wolfsburg over the weekend, as they found themselves down by one goal at the 8th minute, but managed to take all three points with a late goal at the stoppage time. That win extended their winning streak to 13 matches in all competitions, but they have kept just two clean sheets in their last eight. This is Bayern's 14th round of 16 tie, and the German champions – who finished second in Group B – are bidding to reach the quarter-finals for the seventh year in a row. Bayern's round of 16 record is 10-0-3. Having won the last six, they have not lost at this stage since an away-goals defeat at the hands of Inter Milan in 2010/11. Besiktas are in this stage of the Champions League for the first time in their history. Their best European Cup campaign came in 1986/87 when they got to the quarter-finals. Earlier in the season they won their respective group when they defeated RB Leipzig by 2-1 on the road, which was their first victory in Germany in their fifth visit (1-3-1). They scored twice on their four previous visits while conceding six, and they have actually been really great on the road, where they have won all three matches this season. Their victory over RB Leipzig was their sixth in their last twelve European matches (6-3-3). They have been really solid on the road this season, failing to score just once in eighteen matches in all competitions.

The two teams met in the Group Stage of the 1997/98 edition, where Bayern Munich won both matches by 0-2 and 2-0 respectively. Bayern Munich are one of t he most dominant teams in the world, but without their key goalkeeper, their defense is bleeding. The Turks can easily score at least once here.
