The final match of the 26th Round of the Bundesliga is the one between hosts Werder Bremen and Bayer Leverkusen. The two teams were in pretty opposite form before the forced break, with Werder Bremen struggling to get results, while Bayer Leverkusen were in fine shape.
Werder Bremen (4-14-6) have been in terrible shape this season, specially after the winter break, winning just two of their nine matches in 2020 (2-6-1). Moreover, they were without a win in their last five matches (0-4-1), failing to score in four of those. They are sitting at the penultimate spot of the league table with 18 points, nine points below the red line. Werder Bremen have the worst home record in the league (1-8-2), scoring just 8 goals so far.
Bayer Leverkusen (14-6-5) were in the opposite side of things, with a massive ten-match undefeated streak before the break (9-0-1). They have also done great in the German Cup, and in the Europa League. They are sitting 5th in the Bundesliga with 47 points, four behind RB Leipzig and five behind Gladbach. Leverkusen have also been quite solid on the road (7-4-1), losing just one of their last seven away matches in all competitions (5-1-1), but keeping just one clean sheet in the process.
There hasn’t been a home win in the last five matches between the two teams, regardless of venue. And things have been pretty balanced between the two sides in this venue in recent years, with each team winning three times and four matches ended as draws. In seven of those matches there were goals from both sides and seven had Over 2.5 Goals. It’s unclear how the two teams will be after the break, but the hosts have a ton of injuries, so I will take the visitors here.
