Schalke have easily been one of the most horrible teams after the restart of the Bundesliga, but they did grab a point in their last match. They have been really inconsistent lately and will now play host to a Bayer Leverkusen side on Sunday, who need the three points here.

Schalke (9-10-11) are coming off yet another tragic performance, this time on the road against Union Berlin. However, Schalke did manage to score in their only shot on target, eventually forcing a 1-1 draw on the road. Prior to that they had four consecutive losses, while they are also win-less since January 17th. As a result, they are sitting at the 10th spot of the league table with 38 points, safely ahead of the red line but also unrealistically behind the top-six.

Bayer Leverkusen (17-8-5) met a tough 4-2 home loss against Bayern Munich last week in the Bundesliga but bounce back with a nice win in the German Cup semi-finals. They will now face Bayern Munich again, in the final. Leverkusen are now sitting at the 5th spot of the league table with 56 points, as many as Gladbach above them in the standings. Leverkusen have the 3rd best away record in the league (10-4-1), they have won each of their last five away matches and are undefeated in their last eight.
