Atletico Madrid (10-1-8) met a really frustrating elimination at the Copa del Rey against Girona at home. After a 1-1 in the first leg on the road, the two teams played for a 3-3 draw in this venue that saw Girona go through on away goals. Even so, Atletico Madrid have been one of the hardest teams in Europe this season and are now undefeated in their last 17 matches in all competitions (10-0-7). Atletico Madrid are still sitting 2nd in the La Liga with 38 points, five behind Barcelona and five ahead of Sevilla and Real Madrid.
