Aston Villa FC at Norwich City FC 12/14/21 - Premier League Picks & Predictions

Two teams that are coming off slim losses against much bigger opponents over the weekend will now lock horns on Tuesday, when Norwich will play host to Aston Villa. Norwich did a good job against Manchester United but eventually lost to a penalty kick, while Aston Villa also lost to a penalty kick but they didn’t deserve anything from that match.

Norwich (2-10-4) were kinda bad in the first half of their home match against Manchester United, but really picked up in the second half. Even so, Manchester United scored the only goal of the match at the 75th minute when Cristiano Ronaldo converted a penalty kick. After going unbeaten in 4 consecutive matches, Norwich have now lost two in a row without even scoring, but they were up against Manchester United and Tottenham. Norwich are sitting at the bottom of the league table with 10 points, just 3 points below the red line, and their recent results really renewed their hopes to avoid the relegation this season. Even so, they still have the worst home record in the league (1-5-2), scoring just 5 and conceding 12 goals in the process.

Aston Villa (6-9-1) were really bad in both ends of the pitch, especially on the offensive one, as they lost to Liverpool by a slim 1-0 on the road over the weekend. Coach Gerard could not take anything from his return to Anfield as an opponent, while Mohamed Salah scored the only goal of the match from the penalty spot. Despite the loss, Aston Villa have won 3 of their last 5 (and have lost only to the two Manchester franchises). They are now sitting at the 13th spot of the league table with 19 points, scoring 21 goals and conceding 25 in the process. They have been rather bad on the road so far (2-6-0), scoring 7 and conceding 14 goals, while also losing 4 of their last 5 on the road.

Both teams are under new coaches and they have looked slightly better, despite their unsuccessful results over the weekend. Norwich are looking for points in order to escape the red zone, while Aston Villa are looking for points in order to push further away. Taking the Under in what is expected to be a very careful match between the two sides.
