Manchester City met a really unexpected loss on the road against Newcastle last week and drifted even further away from the top spot. They will now get a hard match-up this week, as they will play host to Arsenal on Sunday. The Gunners are coming off an anxious win against Cardiff but have not been in the best of shapes lately.

Manchester City (18-4-2) actually took the lead at the first minute of their away match against Newcastle last week. But they were unable to build on that and eventually conceded two goals in the second half to meet their first loss after eight consecutive wins in all competitions. Manchester City are currently sitting at the 3rd spot of the league table with 56 points, one behind Tottenham who have one more match, and already five behind Liverpool. Arsenal (14-5-5) are coming off a slim 1-2 win at home against Cardiff last week, in a match where they struggled a bit. In their previous match they met a bad 3-1 loss at home against Manchester United in the FA Cup and were eliminated. Arsenal have now won just three of their last five matches in all competitions (3-2-0) and have kept just two clean sheets in their last 11. The Gunners are sitting at the 5th spot of the league table with 47 points, two ahead of Manchester United and three behind Chelsea.
