APOEL Nicosia at Ajax 8/28/19 - Champions League - Playoffs round Picks & Prediction

The third and final qualifying round of the Champions League is set to be played this week, where APOEL will clash with Ajax. Neither team had it easy in the previous round and they both had to play good soccer in the second leg in order to qualify.

Ajax are coming into this match after successfully overcoming Greek side PAOK in the previous round. They did a solid job in the first leg when they held out for a 2-2 draw, taking a nice advantage ahead of the second leg at home. They did need three penalty kicks in order to win by 2-3 and qualify, but they are a sold side. They were weakened in the transfer window but still remain a dangerous lot.

APOEL also had a tough time in the previous round against Qarabag. Things looked bleak when they lost by 2-1 at home, but APOEL did a tremendous job in the second leg. They beat their opponents by 2-0 and moved on to the final qualifying round. APOEL are traditionally strong at home in Europe, where they have lost just four of their last 20 matches in both competitions.
