Tottenham did a really good job in the first leg of the quarter-finals against Manchester City, beating them by 0-1 at home. But it was in the second leg that all hell broke loose, with the two teams engaging in a ferocious goal-fest. Manchester City did win that match by 3-4, but Tottenham’s three away goals saw them through. Tottenham are undefeated in the last six matches against Dutch sides (4-0-2). Ajax are clearly the surprise package of the Champions League this season, having stunned two huge teams so far. In the round of 16 they overcame Real Madrid by destroying them by 4-1 in the second leg in Spain. And in the quarter-finals they drew a 1-1 at home against Juventus but also beat them by 2-1 on the road to progress. Ajax have not had much luck in away matches against English sides (2-4-5), but their record in two-legged ties stands at W3 L4.
