AC Milan at Inter Milan 1/26/21 - Coppa Italia Picks & Predictions
There is a massive derby in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals, when Inter Milan will host AC Milan in what is expected to be a very physical match. Inter Milan have struggled to get results lately, while AC Milan are coming off a tough loss at home against Atalanta.
Inter Milan are coming off a goal-less draw on the road against Udinese, in a match where they didn’t deserve much more. They have now won just one of their last five matches in all competitions, oddly enough against Juventus (1-1-3). Inter Milan have been great at home this season (7-2-3 in all competitions), but those two losses came against Real Madrid in the Champions League and against AC Milan in the Serie A.
AC Milan were no match for the visiting Atalanta this weekend, who blasted them by 3-0 and could have easily scored more goals. AC Milan might have lost two of their last five (2-2-1), but those where their first league losses this season. They have been tremendous on the road so far, with a 11-0-3 record in all competitions. They have scored in all their away matches but kept just five clean sheets in the process.
AC Milan beat Inter Milan in this venue by 2-1 earlier in the season thanks to two goals by Zlatan Ibrahimovic. However, that was AC Milan’s first win after losing four consecutive to Inter Milan. Also it was their first win in the last 10 matches against Inter (1-5-4). Even so, Inter Milan have traditionally been great as hosts against AC Milan, losing just once in the past decade (6-1-3). This match looks like it will have a lot of cards and a lot of goals.
