Detroit has struggled early in the season and has two more losses than any other Atlantic Division team with 12. The Red Wings have been playing better lately, however, with three wins in their last four games.

Issues have abounded on both sides of the ice, as Detroit ranks last in the Atlantic Division and third-to-last in the Eastern Conference with just 48 goals scored and dead last in the NHL with 78 goals allowed. Lopsided losses have hinted that the Red Wings are nowhere close to turning the corner.

One bright spot for Detroit is right wing Anthony Mantha, who has a pair of goals and five assists in his last five games. He leads the team in both categories with 10 assists and 11 goals.

San Jose also fits the description of a struggling team that has started to play well lately. The Sharks' five-game win streak makes up more than half of their nine wins on the season. The scoring has ramped up for San Jose, who has netted five goals twice and six goals once during their streak.

At Anaheim on Thursday, Evander Kane had a goal and a helper en route to a 5-3 win. On the season, Kane has 12 goals and six assists. Center Thomas Hertl also has double-digit goals with 10 and adds 11 assists. He has scored six goals in the last five games while helping on three others.

The way the Red Wings have played on the road this season has been questionable at best. However, the Red Wings are also a team that has quite a bit of talent. The downside is the Sharks could easily outdo the Red Wings and will do that in this game and bring home a strong win in the game here. Final Score Prediction, San Jose Sharks win 4-2.
