The Wild have had a very wild season so far. The offense has been missing most of the season and the defense has been consistent, but it seems that the games the offense does decide to take to the ice the team cannot play defense. However, the Wild are still in the playoff hunt and that is definitely a positive for the team as they were not even expecting to be in the hunt for the playoffs so far.

Zach Parise is the Wild player who leads the team in point scoring on the season with a total of 58 points. He has managed to get a total of 26 goals on the year. Ryan Suter has been able to lead the team in assist with a total of 39 on the year. With the Capitals the team has been able to bounce back from where they were struggling earlier on the year to the point they are leading the Metro Division. However, the Capitals are coming into the game here after picking up a loss on Wednesday night as they ended up losing an overtime game to the Lightning. The score ended up at a final of 5-4 in the game.

On the season so far the Capitals have relied on Alex Ovechkin to lead the team in scoring with a total of 83 points. He also leads the team in goals with 48 on the year. When it comes to feeding the puck around the Capitals have relied on John Carlson who has 53 assist.
