The Washington Capitals play Game 4 of their NHL Eastern Conference quarterfinals best-of-seven series on Tuesday against the New York Islanders. The Capitals have their backs squarely against the wall as they trail in the series 3-0 following a 2-1 Game 3 overtime loss on Sunday. Washington has lost each of the first three games of the series and five of six since returning from the long break.

TJ Oshie is leading Washington in goals scored with three, while John Carlson is the assists leader with four and points leader with four. Tom Wilson is leading in penalty minutes with 21. In goal, Braden Holtby is 1-5 with a goals-against average of 2.64 and save percentage of .907.

The Islanders can eliminate the Washington Capitals with a victory on Tuesday in Game 4. New York has won four straight and six of seven since returning from the covid-19 hiatus. In Game 4, Mathew Barzal scored 4:28 into the extra period to give the Islanders their third straight victory over the Capitals. Semyon Varlamov stopped 22 of 23 shots he faced in net for the  Islanders.

Anthony Beauvillier is leading New York in goals scored with four and in points with seven. Josh Bailey is the assists leader for the Islanders with six and Anders Lee leads in penalty minutes with 11. In goal, Semyon Varlamov is 6-1 with a goals-against average of 1.71 and a save percentage of .932.

Washington will battle its way to a Game 4 victory, but the play here is the OVER. The OVER has cashed in 11 of the Capitals last 14 versus an opponent from the Metropolitan Division. The Islanders have seen the OVER cash in four of their last six and five of their last six playing head-to-head against the Capitals. Final Score Prediction, Washington Capitals win but our best play is OVER 5-3.
