The New Jersey Devils are playing their 40th anniversary season and have a bright future with some talented, young players in the fold. The brightest star for New Jersey is 2019 number one overall draft pick Jack Hughes, who had 26 goals and 30 assists in just 49 games last season. On Saturday, New Jersey held a 36-22 shot advantage during a 2-1 home victory versus San Jose.

New Jersey C Dawson Mercer scored a power play goal on assists from Nico Hischier (4) and Jesper Bratt (8). C Yegor Sharangovich contributed an unassisted goal and Mackenzie Blackwood stopped 21 shots for the Devils (3-2-0), who have reeled off the straight victories.

Washington RW Tom Wilson (knee) is currently on injured reserve and is expected to be out until early December. Despite owning a plus one goal differential, the Devils lead the league in expected goals. The Capitals rank 25th in that category. Take New Jersey to win at home.
