The Stanley Cup semifinals head back to Montreal Thursday night after the Canadiens picked up a 4-1 win in Game 5. Vegas really struggled in game 5 converting on only one of the 27 shots on goal. Max Pacioretty scored the only goal of the game for Vegas as Nicolas Roy picked up the assist.

Vegas Looks slow and seemed to be a step behind all night defensively giving up 4 total goals including one on an empty net. Marc-Andre Fleury seemed to be out of rhythm posting a .880% save rating giving up three goals in 25 shots.

Montreal comes into this game with basically nothing to lose after taking the series lead in game five with a win in Vegas. Carey Price was the MVP for Montreal in Game 5 protecting the net posting a .963% save rating stopping 26 of the 27 shots on goal.

The Montreal offense woke up in Game 5 scoring four goals as four different players found the net. Jesperi Kotkaniemi got the scoring going early with a goal less than 9 minutes into the game as Paul Byron and Josh Anderson contributed with the assist. Nick Suzuki was the offensive player of the game for Montreal posting two assists and one goal.

VGK has their back against the wall here and will look to force the issue and control the pace. The Golden Knights will play their best hockey of the season in this game looking to force a game 7 back in Vegas. Fleury will be on his game, while the VGK offense pumps in the goals.
