Vancouver Canucks vs Vegas Golden Knights 9/1/20 - NHL Picks & Predictions

The Vancouver Canucks are on the brink of elimination when meeting the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday for Game 5 of their NHL Western Conference semifinals best of seven series. Vancouver trails Vegas in the series 3-1 following a 5-3 loss on Sunday in Game 4. Vancouver led 3-2 entering the third and final period, but gave up three unanswered goals and lost and now must win three straight to move on to the Conference Finals.

Center Bo Horvat is leading Vancouver in goals scored with nine and defenseman Quinn Hughes is the leader in assists with 12. Center Elias Pettersson has a team-high 17 points on six goals and 11 assists. Left winger Antoine Roussel has a team-high 44 penalty minutes. In goal, Jacob Markstrom is 8-6 with a goals-against average of 2.85 and save percentage of .919.

The win for Vegas on Sunday was its second straight as the GoldenKnights rallied with three goals in the third. Max Pacioretty scored a pair of goals and added one assist,  William Karlsson, Chandler Stephenson and Nate Schmidt also scored for Vegas. Goalie Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 27 shots in net to earn just his third victory this year in the postseason.

Right winger Alex Tuch is leading Vegas in goals scored with seven, while defenseman Shea Theodore is the assists leader with 10 and right winger Mark Stone is the points leader with 14. Center Jonathan Marchessault has a team-high 12 penalty minutes. In goal, Robin Lehner is 7-2 with a 2.08 goals against average and .921 save percentage.
