Vancouver Canucks vs Vegas Golden Knights 8/25/20 - NHL Picks & Predictions

The Vancouver Canucks look to bounce back from a loss when playing Game 2 of their best of seven NHL Western Conference semifinals series against the Vegas Golden Knights. Vancouver lost Game 1 of the series 5-0 on Sunday to the Golden Knights. The Canucks were outshot by Vegas 39-26 in the loss.

During the postseason, Bo Horvat is leading Vancouver in goals scored with six. In goals, Jacob Markstrom is 7-4 with a goals against average of 2.70, and a save percentage of .922.

Vegas peppered the Vancouver goal from start to finish with 39 shots; scoring five of them. Robin Lehner posted his first career shutout in the playoffs turning aside all 26 shots he faced. Reilly Smith, Jonathan Marchessault, Mark Stone, Alex Tuch and Max Pacioretty each scored for Vegas in the lopsided victory.

Mark Stone is leading Vegas in goals scored in the playoffs with five and in points with 10. Right winger Reilly Smith is leading in assists with six. Brayden McNabb is the leader in penalty minutes with eight. In goal, Robin Lehner is 6-1 with a goals against average of 2.10 and a save percentage of .918.

Vegas trounced Vancouver in Game 1 and that trend will continue in Game 2. The Golden Knights have won 10 of their last 11 overall and five of their last six head-to-head against the Canucks. Vegas goaltender Robin Lehner came up with a big game in net with a shutout frustrating the Canucks, but it was also the Vegas defense that held the high-scoring Canucks to just 26 shots on goal. Final Score Prediction, Vegas Golden Knights win and cover the puck line 5-3.
