Vancouver Canucks vs Minnesota Wild 8/4/20 - NHL Picks & Predictions

The opening game of the series was all Minnesota. The Wild managed to shut out the Canucks in the opening game by a 3-0 score. The funny thing is the Wild defense did not really look like they were challenged that much in the game. The Wild were also very consistent in getting the goals scored with a goal in each period.

Spurgeon was able to lead the Wild with 2 goals in the game. The goal scorer for the Wild was Fiala. Staal managed to get 2 assist in the game for the Wild. Spurgeon ended up getting an assist as well in the game to give him a total of 3 points. The Canucks ended up having a complete lack of offense in their game.

In a surprising move the Wild started Stalock in the net instead of Dubnyk. However, it appeared to be a wise choice as Stalock faced a total of 28 shots and ended up turning away all of the shots that he faced. The shots were all at equal strength as well for the Wild.

With the Canucks they had Markstrom in the net and he ended up facing a total of 30 shots. He saved 28 of those shots that he faced. Out of those saves 27 of them were equal strength saves 1 of them was a power play save.

The Canucks are coming into the game here and will be looking to get their offense going in the game rather early. If the Canucks can do that they have a good chance of knocking Stalock off of his game. Look for that to continue to be the issue here for the Wild as the Canucks offense is able to finally show up in a game and score, but also for Markstrom to play good in the game. Final Score Prediction, Vancouver Canucks win 2-1.
