Toronto Maple Leafs at Ottawa Senators 10/14/21 - NHL Picks & Predictions

The Ottawa Senators kick off their new season at home on Thursday night when they host the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Senators will hope and look to avoid missing the playoffs for three straight seasons. Ottawa went 23-28-5 last season and will look to start this season in a better direction. The Senators 

Ottawa's goaltender Matt Murray has been reported that he may miss the season opener. Murray had 10 wins last season with a .893 save percentage. Swedish goaltender Anton Forsberg will get the start if needed. Brady Tkachuk led the Senators over the last two seasons in the goals category.  Brady Tkachuk has yet to be re-signed as the Senators will get set for a rebuild season. 

The Toronto Maple Leafs will head to Ottawa after playing at home on Wednesday night. Toronto went 35-14-7 last season and will hope to make it deeper in the playoffs this season after getting kicked in the first road. The Maple Leafs had an awesome preseason and look to be a top team this season. 

The Leafs do have some injuries that they will have to play through in the beginning stages of the season. Auston Matthews will not be geared up on Thursday night along with Ilya Mikheyev. Toronto has also added Petr Mrazek to their roster giving them more depth at the goaltender position.
