Top 5 Projected Goal Scorers 2021 NHL Season

The NHL is projected to start in January. However, it is going to be an interesting season with what type of restrictions will be in place, but also where the players land with the potential movement from the strict salary cap in place this season. Now, one thing that is certain is it will not really end up making a difference to the prolific goal scorers as they tend to know how to find the back of the net no matter what. So who should be the top 5 goal scorers this upcoming season in the NHL?

Leon Draisaitl should be towards the top of the NHL when it comes to putting in goals this year. Draisaitl has good support coming back with McDavid, but also has some other support as well with the Oilers. Now, the one thing that could be a key factor is how many touches he gets on the year, but even with limited touches he should still find the back of the net fairly easily.

David Pastrnak is coming back with the Bruins, or should be, and that will definitely help the Bruins out. Pastrnak is a player that has been able to score fairly easily as well with the Bruins. What else helps the Pastrnak out is the teams cannot really just protect against him for the goal scoring as he is a prolific passer as well.

Auston Matthews is one player for the Maple Leafs that is on the rise. Matthews has played great last year. However, Matthews is looking to get some regular support which will help him in getting more goals scored. Even with very limited support last season Matthews ended up getting a total of 47 goals scored.

Alex Ovechkin is a leading goal scorer and will definitely have a good chance of playing as a goal leader. However, Ovechkin is one player that is going to have some challenges as he is getting older and the support players around him have been either getting injured or are underperforming. Still Ovi is one player who could potentially overcome the lack of support to put the puck in the net.

Jack Eichel is coming from the Buffalo Sabres. However, Eichel is playing great at scoring the goals in the games. If you think about it, Eichel has not been able to get much in the way of support all year, but still is coming in and scoring. Just last season he ended up getting a total of 36 goals put into the net and now would like to get more goals scored if he is able to get more support.
