The Amalie Arena will play host to Game 2 between the New York Islanders and the Tampa Bay Lightning Tuesday night. The Islanders stole home ice in game one with a 2-1 win. Semyon Varlamov led the way for the New York defense posting a .968% save rating, while stopping 31 of the 32 shots on goal from Tampa Bay.

Mathew Barzal got the scoring going for New York with a goal 12:32 into the second period. Ryan Pulock scored what would be the game winning goal just over 5 minutes into the third period. Jordan Eberle and Josh Bailey contributed to the offense with one assist each.

The Tampa Bay Lightning relied on the offense in the second round of the playoffs scoring 3.2 goals per game during the five-game series. In game one of the conference finals the Lighting struggle offensively scoring only one goal on 31 shots. Brayden Points scored the goal late in the third period to avoid the shutout for Tampa Bay.

Defensively the Lightning have been great in the playoffs, while allowing only 1.8 goals per game in the second round. Tampa Bay only gave up two goals in game one of this series but due to the lackluster offense couldn't pull it out. Goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy played well stopping 29 of the 31 shots on goal.
